AUT University has successfully spearheaded the call for New Zealand's first Textile and Design Laboratory.

In association with partners from the fashion and design industry and the tertiary education sector and with funding from the New Zealand Government’s Growth and Innovation Pilot Initiatives, AUT has established the Textile and Design Laboratory (TDL) at its campus in Auckland City's central business district.

Based around leading digital print and knit technologies, the TDL supports innovation through design and new technologies, knowledge sharing and research and will foster collaboration between industry and education.
